Buyer's guide
All three. Interior walls, ceilings and trim, exterior siding, trim, doors and decks, and kitchen cabinets. One crew, one standard of prep and one written quote.
A typical single-family exterior runs roughly $4,500–$12,000 depending on the size of the house, the siding, how much prep and wood repair it needs, and the colors. We measure and quote it free, in writing.
Single rooms usually run roughly $400–$1,200 and a whole-house interior roughly $4,000–$10,000, depending on square footage, ceiling height, wall condition and the number of colors.
Most kitchens run roughly $3,500–$8,500 depending on the number of doors and drawers, the condition of the current finish and the color change. Refinishing is typically $3,500–$9,000 and refacing $7,000–$16,000. Every quote is free and in writing.
If you like your layout and the cabinet boxes are solid, usually yes. Painting or refacing costs a fraction of new cabinets, keeps your countertops and floors in place, and takes days instead of weeks.
Painting changes the color and keeps your door style. Refinishing keeps real wood and refreshes the stain. Refacing replaces the doors and drawer fronts for a different style. We'll tell you which fits at the free estimate.
Most kitchens take about a week. Refacing takes longer because the new doors are made to order.
A properly prepped, sprayed cabinet-grade finish holds up well to daily use. Chipping and peeling almost always come from skipped prep, the wrong primer or regular wall paint. We degrease, sand, prime with a bonding primer and spray a hard-wearing topcoat.
No. We remove the doors and drawer fronts and spray them flat so the finish is smooth with no runs, then reinstall them. The boxes and frames are sprayed in place.
Yes. Oak has a heavy open grain that shows through paint unless it's filled. We grain-fill for a smooth modern look, or leave some grain if you prefer.
Yes. Doors and drawer fronts are sprayed in a finishing area and the boxes are sprayed in place with the area masked off. You can usually keep using the sink and appliances, with some days of limited access to the cabinets.
Any color. Warm white, greige, sage green, navy and charcoal are popular, and two-tone kitchens with a contrasting island are common. We bring samples to the free estimate.
We can reuse your hardware or install new pulls and soft-close hinges and drawer slides as part of the job. It's an inexpensive upgrade that changes how the kitchen feels every day.
Homes built before 1978 may have lead paint under newer coats. Disturbing lead paint requires lead-safe work practices. We check the age of your home and tell you how we handle it.
We quote a firm price in writing and stand behind our work.
